Perhaps the best overall lodging experience.
The Little Nell is much more than the sum of its parts, and the parts are all wonderful. I'm happy from the moment I set foot on the property. Whether it's the door staff of the concierge or the ski concierge or restaurant staff or housekeeping, almost every interaction is genuinely friendly while providing complete pampering service. The room is gracious and functional (although I could name a handful of amenities that would make it even better -- but their absence is never a problem), and it suits my mood to spend most of my non-skiing time in the room, just "being".
The Little Nell is exactly what you need it to be, whatever that might be for you.
To say that I felt at home is a well worn cliche, but that exactly describes the Little Nell. When I had slightly over-exerted myself on an acclimatization hike up Ute Trail, the woman at the front desk sat me down in the lounge and personally fetched me a cup of tea and a biscuit before completing my check-in. Every venture out, and every return, and every interaction with the staff was pleasant, relaxed, and facilitated whatever activity I was engaging in or returning from. And, for reasons that I can't even elaborate on, Jason at the Ski Concierge is the friendly, helpful face of the Little Nell to me. For me, the trip is about skiing, and Jason and the whole staff make that as effortless as I can imagine. Their attentiveness facilitates a literal "vacation": I can vacate the normal processes of thinking about what has to happen next and just let my needs be known. That's what every hotel should be.
