Great place to stay!
Timberline Condominiums was very nice and cozy! The staff working there went above and beyond to make us feel right at home. Very clean and convenient place to stay. We would definitely recommend to others.
Great location, very nice staff, good bar/restaurant...but the condo...
Timberline is in a very nice location slope side, ski in and ski out, can't get too much better. The staff are wonderful (aside from one of the drivers who unlike all the others, simply refused to get out and help with skis or grocery bags) and the shuttle service is super convenient. The bar is a really friendly place, the fondue in the restaurant is just excellent after a day of skiing, and both bar and restaurant are surprisingly reasonably priced for Aspen. But the condo...really, really basic for the price, and not a single upgrade since it was built back in the 19??'s. Super basic stuff in the kitchen, the cheapest knives and cutlery possible, only salt and pepper as cooking supplies, a pretty hard bed, bathrooms from a 1960's grade B movie. All very tired and exuding "cheap cheap cheap". I don't know if all the units are similar, but the one we had was more or less like a ski dorm from when I was a kid back in the 60's. The price, however, while not the highest in Snowmass, was a lot higher than the unit really deserved for being so, so basic. Top of the Village is a little more expensive, but MUCH nicer. Maybe we just drew a tired unit.
Somewhat compact
This is our second year in a row, having chosen Timberline Condominiums due to easy access to the ski tracks-lifts. Though the lodging in general was great, we found it rather compact compared to our previous choice the year before, and with less ammenities. Also, the cleaning service was not the best, and we ocassionally left papers, etc., on the floor only to find they were still there on our return that day, and during the whole of the week. It seems they only made the beds, and a quick cleaning of bathrooms and kitchen. I doubt we will choose this one again. We also requested king size bed in each of the rooms, but only had one.
Condo exceeded our needs
Excellent rental, walk out back to the slopes, we had 4 guys in a 2 bedroom & loft with 3 bathrooms. Would rent again if we go back. The shuttle service was great as most to the units are on a incline and they pick you up and drop you off anywhere in Snowmass.
Good location and inexpensive on the mountain
We had unit A1A, just up the hill from the main office. The unit has 2 bedrooms with queen beds, 2 bathrooms and a living room/kitchen on the lower level. It was well kept and had everything in the kitchen to prepare any meal. For 4 guys, it suited us well. The staff is friendly and quick to respond to requests. Our arrival package was waiting for us at the front counter upon arrival and included our lift tickets, equipment rental info and general information. Parking is $35/week (reasonable) with check in at 2 p.m./out at 10 a.m. The hill going down to Snowmass Village is quite steep but you're on the mountain, what do you expect. Overall, a nice place to stay and will be a top contender for next year.
