Whether the Matterhorn is there or not, the mountain alone does not make the holiday: the right hotel is the decisive factor for a really relaxing holiday so choose the Perren. We offer you an informal but traditional atmosphere and an interplay of s...
perfect family hotel
the Perren Hotel is a great mix of location, amenities, and price. Its location is in the middle of things, a very close walk to everything you want (ski lifts, apres ski, and dinner locations). We saw many hotels further away from the center that I imagine are cheaper, and the high end hotels in the exact middle of the village. But I think it's worth paying up some for the location, but not worth the price for the high end hotel locations. One thing to consider if staying at the Bahnhoffstrasse hotels is ski lift access. The walk to bus stops or the lift stations is not very convenient from them, otherwise it's taxis. The Perren's location is a very convenient/easy walk to lifts or buses, you'll never need a taxi. Rooms, lobby, and breakfast were great. Simple but definitely nice. Not the elegance of the top hotels but for anyone that does not value such so highly (like families) this was a perfect compromise. And we did see a few other mid priced hotel lobbies and the Perren was nicer than those. Did not board there so no opinion on the restaurant. Front desk was very helpful in many ways, thanks to them for making our stay so enjoyable. Ski room is very nice to have too. And for our family of 5 the Perren's Matterhorn Suite is a fantastic offering allowing us all to be together in a room, not to mention the gorgeous view of the Matterhorn from its deck. All in all the Perren really made our stay as special as it was, allowing us a central location so that everything we did was easy but not breaking the bank to do so.
