Located just 35 miles southeast of Kelowna, getting to Big White is easy and the travel options are plenty. Major airlines fly daily into Kelowna’s international airport which is the major gateway into interior B.C.About 32 percent of the Big White ski area is groomed, making it a haven for intermediates, families and beginners. Big White may not be hailed as an expert-skier or snowboarder destination, but the reality is that thrill-seekers have plenty of black diamond runs, steep alpine bowls and off-piste terrain.

Awesome skiing! Great ski in ski out accommodations.
We stayed at Stonebridge Lodge. Very nice accommodations. Easily accessible lockers. Ski in/out to several lifts. Only complaint with condo was the knives were old useless Ginzu knives. Hot tub was nice and well maintained. Great views and friendly staff. A decent selection of restaurants with not too outrageous ski resort prices. US dollar goes a long way. Small grocery store and liquor store with very decent selection, but still best to stop in Kelowna for best selection and pricing. Skiing was great, conditions perfect. Awesome snow when fresh, excellent groomed cruisers when snow is packed down. We skied for 1 week and largest lift lines on a Mid afternoon Saturday were 12 mins. No lines during the week. Of course there are days with low visibility, Big White is a high alpine ski resort that gets a lot of snow. If you want sunshine go to Hawaii.
A great family ski vacation resort
This was our second time back to Big White, but our first time booking with ski.com. Maureen was incredibly helpful and efficient, got us a really great ski package. Big white has a lot of ski in ski out lodging options, a variety of really good restaurants, the lines for the ski lifts were nonexistent for the majority of the time we were there even though it was Spring Break for most of the Ontario schools. The resort is owned by an Australian family and so most of the staff are from Australia and have cute accents, and are very friendly and laid back. The slopes have nice long runs for beginners as well as more advanced skiers. The ski school is great for the kids, either half day or all day options with lunch. Some of adults in our group took semi-private lessons as well and we highly recommend them. There is also opportunities for dog sledding, tubing, and going on a horse carriage ride through the snow. It was a great vacation and we will definitely be back.
So much to do!

There is a magnitude of other activities as well such as; snowshoeing, Nordic skiing, ice climbing, dog sledding, snowmobiling, Kids' mini snowmobiles, tubing and ice skating! So, as you can see you will never be bored at Big White.
There is also plenty of lodging available, most with great ski access and gorgeous views. There are over 17,000 beds total throughout the resort!
One of the greatest things about Big White would have to be all of the events! There is an event almost every weekend. Since Big White is in the Okanagan Valley wine countr,y many of these events feature the local wineries!
Big White is definitely worth the visit if you like clean air, expansive views, great eats, lots of activities and lastly, great wine!
Big White is Canada's Favorite Family Resort
When I toured Big White, I found it nestled in the Okanagan Highland - an upland area between the Monashee Mountains and the Okanagan valley. It is about 35 miles southeast of Kelowna, B.C. Big White benefits from storms coming in off the Pacific, which drop consistent and considerable fresh powder every winter. The focus here is on families with everything from the Mega Snow Coaster tubing to night skiing and everything in between. I found that they also have ice skating, snowshoeing, ice climbing, sleigh rides, snowmobiling and there are even mini snowmobiles for the kids! Of course they also offer both nordic and alpine skiing, as well as snowboarding. Tired from all of these activities? Try the Sno Limo with your own private chauffer who will whisk you around the mountain to see the sights. At the end of the day sample one of the 23 bar and dining options or check out the many Spa services that are offered. What really surprised me , however was the abundance of deluxe properties at value prices. At Big White I found dozens of ski-in and ski-out options and many of these with private hot tubs. They have condo's, hotels and private home, Big White has it all. Call me today to discuss a package to this all in one ski destination.Good
