Fernie Beginner Skiing

Beginners can enjoy 30 percent of Fernie’s 2,500-plus skiable acres, and they’re not limited to the base area. First time skiers will enjoy learning on the gentle slopes off the Mighty Moose chairlift, and once they’re ready to progress to longer green runs, the Deer Chair provides access to more nearly a dozen green runs. More experienced beginners will revel skiing off top of the high-alpine Great Bear Express quad. Here beginners can experience bowl skiing down the middle of the wide-open Lizard Bowl.
