It’s not called "Ski capital of the East" for no reason. Located a mere 40 minutes from Vermont’s Burlington Airport, which has some great, locally sourced airport food, a Stowe ski vacation is the Northeast’s easiest ski resort to get to from anywhere in the world. The resort is also less than 30 minutes from the train station. Directions to Stowe from Burlington

• Take Interstate 89 South.
• Take exit 10 (Stowe / Waterbury).
• Make a left at the end of the exit ramp for route 100N.
• Follow this for 11 miles until you reach Stowe.
