Since its inception in the ‘60s, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort has been the proving ground for extreme skiers looking to make a name for themselves. The terrain at Jackson is known across the globe for being some of the most challenging—and rewarding—there is. Tight chutes, like the iconic Corbet's Couloir, big airs, deep snow and steep lines are what make Jackson Hole famous. However, there are dozens of wide-open trails for beginners and picture-perfect cruisers and progressive bump runs for intermediates, and much more.
While a Jackson Hole ski vacation will always be top-of-mind with expert skiers as a bucket list destination because of the advanced and extreme terrain on its slopes and easily accessed side country, Jackson brings a lot more to the plate than just being a place for adrenaline junkies to jump off cliffs. Not only does Jackson Hole exude refreshing cowboy character, on and off the slopes, but its "All New All Blue" terrain off of Casper chairlift is a game-changer for intermediates.
At Jackson Hole ski resort, you’ll be awed by the breathtakingly rugged Teton mountains, and equally wooed by the authentic and welcoming Wild West atmosphere that pervades both Teton Village and downtown Jackson Hole, which are 15 minutes apart. Everything about Jackson Hole, even down to the shopping and dining is reminiscent of a bygone day and makes for one unforgettable ski vacation.
...at the base of the resort, Teton Village, or in the historic cowboy town of Jackson.
...at a top elevation of 10,459 on Rendezvous Mountain.
...by flying directly into Jackson airport for ultimate convenience.
…breathtaking views of Grand Teton National Park.
…Yellowstone National Park in the winter via snowmobile or snow coach.
…100+ awesome restaurants from burger joints and grills to authentic Thai and fine dining.
…yourself to peanut butter + bacon waffle at Corbet’s Cabin.
…heli skiing, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling—a few examples of Jackson Hole’ many winter activities.
Many ski legends have been born on the slopes of Jackson Hole. Early icons like Doug Coombs and the founders of ski movie production team, Teton Gravity Reseach (TGR) cut their teeth and established a reputation by attacking the gnarly lines of Jackson Hole. Expert lines like Corbett’s, Once is Enough, Pucker Face, Central Couloir still are featured every year in ski movies because they’re timeless.
Jackson Hole often experiences an inversion, where cold air is trapped by clouds at the base of the mountain, while the top of the mountain is gorgeous and sunny with visibility for miles. Skiing in Jackson Hole is like skiing in the clouds. It’s truly breathtaking.
Intermediate skiers have their own slice of heaven at Jackson Hole these days. The resort re-graded several runs off of Casper chairlift and redesignated them as true blue runs, i.e. All New-All Blue. Intermediates can enjoy the views from the top of Jackson Hole’s famed Tram, thanks to meandering fun runs all over the mountain, like Amphitheater and Nez-Perce Traverse. And there’s an entire section, the Teewinot Face, on the looker’s right of the mountain for intermediate skiers—accessed via Apres Vous Quad. Beginner runs are relegated to the bottom half of the mountain, off of the Eagle’s Chair and Teewinot Quad.
As you can imagine the tough, genuine cowboy vibe in downtown Jackson predates the ski resorts. This rustic pureness in downtown Jackson is part of the draw for many people, from the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar, a Western museum and watering hole all in one, to the many cowboy attire retailers and antique stores. And you can bet that the little ones will surely love perusing through town− homemade ice cream in hand−pretending they’re cowboys or cowgirls. Jackson Hole is truly a magical ski destination for kids age three to 99.

Great Time!
We absolutely loved the Jackson Hole ski resort. Everyone was friendly & the mountain was not overcrowded. No waits at the lifts.
Excellent resort staff
We had a week in Jackson Village. The resort staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. It was a great experience.
Feb 2019 trip
Great all around experience at the resort. Many options on the mountain and in the village for entertainment and meals
Bucket list resort
Jackson Hole has always been a bucket list resort and it did not disappoint. What an amazing part of the country.
Beautiful and Friendly
When my 25 year old son says JH is the most beautiful place he has ever boarded, that’s all you need to know. Great scenery. In addition, everyone is very friendly and helpful, including the shops, the bars and restaurants, the mountain, and the townspeople.
Christmas winter family vacation
We had a great time over the 5 night stay at Snow King Resort. The accommodations were as expected. I would Rate the rooms as a 4 out of 5. The Resort was great for all the skiing on snow King Mountain. The connivence of town being so close was great for eating and tooling around. We loved Jackson Hole. There is great sling and Teton Village is not far from town. Great Trip.
Fantastic time
Stayed at Teton mountain lodge and spa. Had a awesome time as always. Dealing with some back issues so boarding was limited but the mountain was beautiful and theist lines were non existent. The mountain staff were excellent! The waffles at the top of the Mtn were delicious even if you ride up and down to get them like we did:(. The village was great and convenient! The staff everywhere we visited was great from the Jackson hole village to downtown Jackson! Food/drink prices were pricey but a great time was had.
Everything you could want in a ski experience - day and night
A lot of options for entertainment and eating - both on the mountain and in Jackson. While Jackson is a bit far, it's worth the trip to have access to some terrific restaurants and shopping. The skiing was fabulous with challenging blues, dbl blues and a range of blacks. Will definitely be back!
Perfect vacation
snow was great, mountain challenging, on mountain dining fun (waffles and bridgers).
1st Time Visitor very pleased
My husband and I decided to try Jackson Hole and were very pleased with our experience. The hotel is in a great location, close to the lifts and restaurants, and everyone we met were very friendly. We will definitely be back again.
Snow, Snow and More Snow
I spent a spectacular four days last week at Jackson Hole. We skied powder every day; the snowfall just wouldn't stop! This mountain is so impressive; independent, family-owned and they've got skiing there for all skill levels. With two gondolas, the world famous tram and many, many high speed chairs, this 2500+ acre mountain skis like 3500+ acres. We also did our fair share of shopping; Jackson has great stores and the handful of shops in the village have whatever we needed (and more). There is no shortage of great restaurants in the Village or in the town of Jackson. We had great meals at Piste, one of the on-mountain restaurants, the Snake River Lodge and Spa, the Osteria, the Silver Dollar in town and the Handle Bar at the Four Seasons. Be sure to visit the restaurant at the Alpenhof Hotel for Swedish pancakes! All in all, a lovely, casual and friendly experience with fantastic skiing.Excellent

Plenty for an intermediate
When I first learned I would be going to Jackson Hole, known for it's steep terrain and advanced skiing, I was feeling a bit intimidated. I knew there would be some intermediate terrain but I was actually surprised at how much there was. With over 24 blue runs and 12 double blue runs there was more than plenty to keep me happy during our four-day trip to Jackson.Excellent

Not only is there plenty of expert terrain an intermediate skier will also find plenty of fun skiing. It is very easy to navigate and get around the mountain. For a non-skier, there is a wonderful restaurant at the top of the gondola where one can meet the other skiers and enjoy lunch together.
Jackson Hole has fantastic lodging options right in the base area and plenty of affordable lodging in downtown area for those more on a budget. The bus between downtown and Teton Village (base area) runs from early morning until late night. I recommend Jackson Hole for the perfect ski vacation whether it be a family trip or the group looking for the ultimate challenge.
