With nearly a dozen bars to choose from, the Keystone night life scene has much to offer in the way of sports bars and pubs, but it also has some options for those looking for a quiet fireside cocktail. That being said, you won’t really find late night hangouts or night clubs. The Keystone night life tends to wind down an hour or two after dinner.
To catch a game, you’ll want to head to 9280 Tap House in the base village. During football season, especially, this is the place to be. The 9280 Tap House features an incredible beer list and both healthy and traditional pub fare. You can nab one of their tasty sandwiches and a beer for under $12. If it’s a gorgeous afternoon, as it often is, 9280 also offers one of the better Keystone après scenes. Their deck is prime locale for a sunny cocktail.
Spice things up across Highway 6 at Dos Locos Mexican Restaurant and Cantina. They offer an incredible happy hour from 2:30 to 6 p.m. on drinks and eats. Their margaritas are well-loved, as is their bottomless chips and salsa. If you’re looking to mingle with the local crowd at least one $1 PBR is in order at The Goat, on Highway 6. This fun dive bar is “dog friendly” and has foosball, pool and buck hunt.
If you’re looking for a romantic fireplace to curl up on—drink in hand—and relax after a long day of skiing, then you’ll want to head to the Tenderfoot Lounge off of Highway 6. This cozy spot is reminiscent of a Western living room, and you’ll feel right at home with a draft in hand and several flat screen TVs to watch the game on. This is also a great place to catch live music.
