Park City Mountain Resort intermediate runs

Park City Mountain Resort takes intermediate skiing seriously. They wanted intermediate skiers to enjoy as many runs as possible, so they developed their Signature Runs program. On a regular basis PCMR snow-grooming crew meticulously grooms out expert runs, allowing intermediates experience steep skiing at in a comfortable way. Most of the Signature Runs are black diamonds, and were formerly steep, mogul runs, but the groomed conditions allow intermediate skiers to gain confidence on challenging terrain. Be sure to check the trail signs at the base of the mountain for information about the day’s groomed Signature Run.

Both the quality and quantity of intermediate ski runs at Park City Mountain Resort make it a must-visit for all skiers. There are so many terrific blue square options, making it difficult to name just a few intermediate runs that you have to experience. Every run that drops off of King Con Ridge is incredible. The King Con Quad chairlift will be the center of your Park City Mountain Resort ski trip if you’re looking to lap intermediate trails. However, Sunrise, Prospector, Parley’s Park, Jupiter’s Access, and Silver King Trail are five Park City Mountain Resort intermediate skiing runs that you’d be remiss to miss.

Located to the skier’s left of McConkey’s Hi-Speed Six-Pack chair, Sunrise is a Signature Run at Park City Mountain Resort. Prospector drops fall line beneath the Silverlode Hi-Speed Six-Pack chair in the Silverlode/Bonanza area of Park City Mountain Resort. Prospector is an iconic Signature Run that can be lapped easily because of its close proximity to the chair. Parley’s Park is a long, wide-open trail that intermediate skiers dream about long after their PCMR ski vacation. Link Parley’s Carbide Cut and Thayne’s Canyon—two intermediate trails lower on the mountain—for a leg-burning cruiser to the bottom of the King Con Quad chairlift. Jupiter’s Access is a challenging run for intermediate skiers because it runs along the ridge, but the rolling slopes make Jupiter’s Access a great run for intermediates looking to ski a more difficult blue run.

Three-time Olympian Picabo Street has been a longtime PCMR local and Silver King Trail is her favorite run. Street used Silver King in her training to battle back from injury for the 2002 Winter Olympics in her hometown.
