About St. Anton am Arlberg, Austria

If you’re looking to escape to a charming Austrian village that offers a uniquely modern-meets-historic experience, a St. Anton ski vacation fits the bill. St. Anton am Arlberg is a holiday region with a worldwide reputation, and rightfully so. Holidaymakers in St. Anton am Arlberg treasure the alpine coziness at 1,300 meters altitude as much as the hospitality and international orientation. It is a mountain village, traditional and modern at the same time, with the scenery of a gigantic summit world and the amenities of a worldly holiday resort.**

The pedestrian village and easy lift access makes it one of the best all-in-one destinations in the Alps. Escape the hubbub of the village on the vast slopes of Arlberg ski region, which includes bus-accessed Zurs and Lech ski resorts and discover the infinite terrain that makes this area one of Europe’s premier destinations.

This Tyrolean mountain village is, however, not only popular with ski fans: Those who fancy leaving their skis or board at home for a change, or not hit the slopes at all, have a plethora of thrilling activities to choose from.

    Ski St. Anton

The St. Anton skiing offers visitors scenic views over 9,000 feet, a vertical drop of 5,000 feet and runs up to five miles long. Beginners and intermediates will enjoy the open snow fields accessed by the Rendlbahn gondola as well as the meandering trails among the Kapall and Galzig complexes. The Galzig-Valluga cable cars carry skiers to the more challenging runs from the Vallugagrat to the village of St. Christoph, a sister ski area that is included on the St. Anton ski pass, along with Zürs, Lech and Stuben.
To access Lech and Zurs ski resorts, you’ll travel along a breathtaking route of narrow roads and tunnels that puncture sky high Alpine peaks. The skiing at these iconic Austrian resorts is exceptional, and the views make the experience that much better. A visit to Lech and Zurs is also a must because this region is considered the birthplace of skiing.

There are few places better for first time skiers and beginners. St. Anton's two ski schools are famed as the largest ski schools in the world, boasting 300 instructors who are well-practiced in the famous Arlberg technique.

Mega resort with old world charm

All that you could ask for in a European ski resort. Amazing lifts, great food everywhere, lots of terrain. The only negative is common to skiing the alps, when it snows, visibility is limited, and many lifts don’t open, or aren’t worth skiing because you can’t see anything.

    Great

Great runs but I will try January next time. I went in March and snow was slushy.

    Wonderful Time

St Anton was absolutely amazing. The only complaint I had was that we did not stay long enough. I will definitely be returning to see the rest of the resort.

    Fantastic Ski Vacation

All around excellent vacation. St. Anton is likely the best area I have ski'd in. Beautiful wide runs, many mountains and little villages. It is not an area where they pack a lot of lifts and runs on a small mountain. These are wide and spread out. Very long runs. Got in 120 miles of skiing in 6 days, not counting lifts. Weather helped, every day was fantastic sun shine. Lots of great restaurants, bars, etc. Places to eat on the slopes as well as in the village of St. Anton. Very reasonably priced for such a great resort area. I highly recommend St. Anton to any enthusiastic skier!

St Anton - great snow, awesome apres ski

Challenging resort with steep slopes, certainly not for beginners but with the best snow and of course Mooserwirt, probably the best apres ski place in the Alps. Will definitively be back sometime.

St. Anton, Lech and Zurs is the best!

Skiing St. Anton am Arlberg is where skiing was born. It usually gets more snow than other areas of the Alps. The town of St. Anton has all the convinences...shops, resturants, grocies and near by gondolas and lifts. When you want to do some exploring, skiing over to lech and Zurs is do-able, bus buses are always standing by to take you over to lots of great skiing. There's a lot of night life, but skiing was our main conncern and jumping into a cozy bed was the best. We will most certainly be back.
