    About St Moritz

If you’re looking for a well-heeled ski vacation, few resorts can top St. Moritz’s famed prestige. The resort is truly the No. 1 winter playground of the international jet set. The St. Moritz village is situated at the center of the elongated Engadin valley, which the Inn River passes through. Like most resorts located in the Swiss Alps, you can bet that St. Moritz offers dizzying views of dramatic mountain peaks. The base area is divided into St. Moritz Bad, which is a better locale to access the lifts, and St. Moritz Dorf, which features an elegant shopping village. The resort incorporates five ski areas—Lagalb, Diavolezza, Corvatsch, Furtschellas and Corviglia—and their combined 220 miles of terrain is serviced by 56 lifts. The resort recently replaced older t-bars with high-speed chairlifts, further improving the stellar uphill capacity. As host to the Engadin Ski Marathon, Nordic skiing is quite popular, and the resort offers 115 miles of cross-country trails around the town.

Non ski activities include winter horse racing, and “snow” cricket, bobsledding, snowshoeing, winter walking, tennis, racquetball or shopping in dozens of chic shops. Afternoon tea on a sunny café terrace is a must. A whole world of entertainment from informal bars to the casino and stylish nightclubs fill your evenings. A St. Moritz ski vacation will delight anyone looking for an unbeatable experience.

    St. Moritz skiing

The most accessible St. Moritz skiing can be found at the Corviglia and Corvatsch areas, which are the closest in proximity to Bad village. Experts find that there are plenty of thrilling challenges spread out over the area’s vast expanse. The black runs at Diavolezza and Lagalb are probably the most challenging. Plus, there’s plenty of off-piste skiing that stays untracked for days. Those looking to earn their turns should hire a guide and explore Corvatsch’s Roseg Valley. Diavolezza offers a renowned off-piste glacier route, and of course, awesome Alpine views.

Intermediates and families will especially love the Corviglia sector, with its numerous meticulously groomed blue runs and convenient locale to the base area. Intermediates can explore nearly all of the ski areas thanks to St. Moritz’ exceptional grooming capabilities. Beginners have a couple good terrain options at Salastrains, or Corviglia. Survetta, which is down the road from the main base area.
