    Ski Whitefish Mountain Resort

Few resorts can offer so much to every skier and boarder. Beginners have nearly the entire lower, looker’s left-hand side of the mountain. Whitefish also offers beginners backside access. Newbies can explore the Northside zone via Caribou trail, the lone green run in that area. And with Whitefish’s nominal crowds, first-time skiers can feel comfortable learning a new skill without worrying about passersby. Intermediates can access the entire mountain—the Frontside, Northside and Hellroaring Basin—providing them with nearly 1,500 acres to explore. Freestyle skiers and snowboarders have two terrain parks to choose from between Chair 3, or Tenderfoot, and Heaven’s T-Bar.

Whitefish skiing offers experts incredible access as well, via all three zones: Frontside, Northside and Hellroaring Basin. Experts get to experience all of the terrain on the two backside areas, from the sustained glades in Northside’s Window Pane and the steep pitch on Bighorn. Too Late in Season

Great mountain, very good town and lodge, we got to there too late in the season for really good snow, but would go back.

    Whitefish Mountauin

Nicely run mountain; friendly crew. The day lodge at the top is well run, clean and efficient. Our timing was not too good....fairly severe "Spring conditions..." ...Freezer frost in the early AM..then maybe a nice 2 hrs on a more forgiving surface, morphing to snow cones in early afternoon....Luck of the draw....we should have gone earlier.

    Powder and clouds

We had three days of new powder snow however the top of the mountain was socked in by the snow clouds making navigation a bit iffy. Once the sun broke through the place was spectacular. This is a local's mountain as much as destination resort. Lots of steep and deep terrain for the advanced skier however tree wells are a real danger at Whitefish due to the sometimes poor visibility and deep snow. Ski with a buddy and have some avalanche training if you are going into the deep. Plenty of nice green and blue terrain for the family and there are blue runs off the top of the peak. I'll note that I write this in early April and Whitefish is still getting snow. Our condo was older but fit the 6 of us comfortably. Cooking gear was adequate and all the appliances were in working order. Skiing to and from the condo was convenient. I can't rate the nightlife. We ski all day and really aren't into night life. However the town of Whitefish is delightful. There is a free shuttle and a donations based taxi system. Of course Glacier National Park is right next door for a day off from skiing. We'd happily go back.
