When walking around Nelson, it’s clear that this charming, silver-boom-era town has an appreciation for arts and tradition, and this extends to its restaurant scene. With the exception of AAA, four-diamond Michelin-star restaurants, diners have a nice variety of choices.
One of the most popular restaurants is actually located in the Hume Hotel and provides historic ambiance and friendly service. The restaurant provides a nice eclectic mix of contemporary American and European food, ensuring every palate is well pleased. Nelson boats two great Mediterranean-style restaurants; Bibo, on Hall Street, which service up rustic Italian bistro fare, and Sage Tapas and Wine Bar, on Vernon Street, which features traditional tapas sharing plates and a great wine list.
Diners looking for a hip, chic dining experience will be pleased with Re-lish, on Baker Street, which serves up Canadian bistro-style food with European flare. The salmon entrée is a favorite and anything off the cocktail list is well worth trying.
