As its name implies, Solitude is not exactly a place you go to for a wild après-ski or bar scene. This Big Cottonwood Canyon resort is off-the-beaten-path, making it ideal for the vacationer looking to focus on the simple pleasures of the mountains: great views and lots of powder. But this is still a ski area after all, so there’s certainly some great, choice places to grab a cold beer and enjoy good company. The Thirsty Squirrel is one of Solitude’s most popular après-ski bars thanks to its hearty appetizer menu, flat screen TVs and billiard tables. It’s a great place to warm up and relax with a cocktail after a full-day on the slopes, or enjoy a sports game with your friends.
